Health People: live-in caregivers provide safety and securityOur Live-In Caregiver service is often needed by elderly clients as well as clients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, heart and cardiovascular disorders, and other chronic conditions. The client’s safety and security is always foremost, and the caregiver is supervised by a registered nurse.

Depending on your parent’s needs, our licensed nursing assistants will stay in the home 24-hours a day, up to 7 days a week, to provide companionship. The client must provide a separate bedroom and bath area for the caregiver, as well as food for all meals. Our live-in caregiver will provide up to eight hours of continuous care. Plus, the caregiver should receive a minimum of eight hours of sleep each night. Note that this differs from 24-hour care, which provides full-time care, around the clock.

Live-In Caregiving includes:

  • Taking the client to doctor appointments
  • Administering medications
  • Helping the client out of bed, showering, and dressing
  • Helping the client into bed at night
  • Post-operative care if additional care is needed immediately after the client is released from the hospital
  • Serving as a companion to ensure he or she remains socially engaged
  • Providing light housekeeping, cooking, shopping, and errands
  • Providing daily updates to the adult children via telephone or text messages
