Caregiver Options

Health People has used over twenty years of experience in both the healthcare and staffing fields to develop and refine a comprehensive recruiting and screening process, directed exclusively at Home Health Caregivers who provide care in an independent home setting. We are a fully state licensed home health and staffing agency, subject to ongoing and annual inspection by state regulators of The Department of Health.

Temporary Assistance: Health People can provide Certified Nursing Assistants to help families in caring for a frail elder or disabled adult on an hourly or live-in basis. We focus exclusively on adultcare and do not service pediatric patients. Many of our clients are hospice, Alzheimer's, and multiple sclerosis patients. Our caregivers are our employees, and we pay for their payroll, worker's compensation, and unemployment taxes. They are all bonded and professionally insured by Health People. In addition, all of our caregivers sign legal waivers that preclude them from receiving any material gifts or estate proceeds from any company client. All our clients are supervised by experienced Registered Nurses.

Permanent Recruitment: Many families prefer to hire their own caregivers and take the legal responsibility for withholding various required taxes. This can be an attractive and cost effective solution if the family is facing a long-term caregiving situation. Over the years Health People has developed multiple sources in which to recruit quality caregivers. Through these sources we can locate candidates for private placement. These candidates would receive the same type of screening and background checks conducted on our own employees. Unlike employment or home care agencies, Health People Inc. is a fully licensed home health agency, allowing our clients a broader range of services. Each of our recruitment clients receives a free nursing assessment with each engagement. Ongoing nurse supervision can be provided for an hourly fee.

Testing and Screening Services: In some circumstances, families have identified a specific individual who is a potential caregiver which they would like to privately employ, but would like to have the candidate receive a basic screen for competence and background. In these cases, Health People would arrange to have this individual come to our offices for interviewing, competency testing at a C.N.A. level of proficiency and complete a comprehensive criminal background and credit report investigation with a report being sent to the family within five days of testing. This service is provided at a substantially reduced fee from our normal recruitment service.
